We now have an opening for a part-time Physical Therapist at our center.
Physical Therapist Position Description
Part-time position; hours negotiable
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
Qualifications:
- Current State Physical Therapy License, graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or graduate of accredited college or university with a certificate in Physical Therapy
- Current BCLS (CPR) certification (to be completed on your own time)
Position Description:
- Responsible for evaluating, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician
- Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability
- Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities
- Participates in operational aspects of the center and maintains performance improvement within the center
- Upholds and delivers quality communication for effective treatment planning and delivery
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Observes and evaluates treatment effect; recommends change to physician as needed
- Performs an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to therapy requested and provided, and reassessments per policy
- Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate
- Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities
- Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains cleanliness and safety.
- Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administrative team
- Maintains clear, legible and complete records pertinent to personnel and operation of the center in accordance with current standards and policies
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations
- Consults other therapists and employees as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities
