Part-Time Barn Assistant
Ron Linsmeyer grew up on a small dairy farm in Butternut, Wisconsin, the youngest boy in a family of 10 kids. He graduated from UW-River Falls and retired in 2024 after a 38 year career in Information Technology with Hormel Foods. He was also the lead instructor for the Computer Information Systems / Programmer Analyst program at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in New Richmond, Wisconsin for 2 years. He began volunteering at Nature’s Edge in July, 2024 and was eventually brought on staff to substitute in various roles as needed, including grounds maintenance, animal care and barn assistant. Ron was drawn to Nature’s Edge by his love for animals and kids, and a desire to give back during his retirement years. Ron says he cannot think of a more worthwhile cause than the mission of Nature’s Edge Therapy Center.
Ron and his wife Donna just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in May of 2025. Donna is still employed as an elementary school teacher in the Cameron school district. They have 2 married sons, and 5 grandchildren. In addition to spending time with his family and attending events for his kids and grandkids, Ron enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, all Wisconsin college and professional sports, and various home improvement projects around home or at his hunting cabin on the land he purchased on his childhood farm in Butternut.
