Kit Kat

Photo of light tan jersey cow, face forward, with large black nose, dark eyes, and large forward facing ears.
Kit Kat, Therapy Cow

Kit Kat is our jersey cow. She loves treats and every scratch anyone is willing to give her. She is best friends with our mini, Pride. Kit Kat enjoys being brushed and going for an occasional walk, but don’t let that fool you. Her favorite activity is lounging around with her buddy Pride and anything having to do with feeding time. She comes running as soon as the hay is thrown.

Mable

MableMable is the youngest of the canine pack at Nature’s Edge. Mable is full of never-ending energy, lots of imagination and constantly trying to think of new ways to change things up (or chew them up). Tippy and Bandit, her brothers, are always trying to help coach Mable to make good decisions, but she has a mind of her own. She loves everyone that visits and believes they are visiting just to see her. Mable is also a register Pet Partner therapy dog, R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistant Dog) dog. She is also part of the Animal-Assisted Crisis Team through Pet Partners.

Othello

Othello (“Olo”), Therapy Pig

Othello, otherwise known as Olo, joined our team in July 2013. He quickly became a favorite with everyone. Olo loves his freedom and enjoys roaming the lawn during the day. Occasionally he has even been known to wander down the trail into the woods. Olo and Daisy make quite the pair and love to snuggle together at night in their pig house. During the hot weather in summer Olo can be found lying in his piggy pool cooling off, or his absolute favorite activity (other than eating) is draining the water out of his freshly filled pool to create a mud bath for himself.

Roxy & Ruby

Roxy & Ruby

Roxy was born in November of 2018 and is a Guard Standard Donkey.  She is the mother of Ruby that was born in May of 2021.  They are excited to teach our patients ‘patience and persistence’ as they walk with them on the paths at Nature’s Edge Therapy Center.

Leo

Leo, Therapy Llama

Leo is our most observant barnyard friend. He usually knows what’s happening before the rest of us do. He’s always a little leery of being caught but once you have him, he is sweet and will go wherever you ask him to as long as you do so nicely and have patience with him.

Daisy Lou

Daisy Lou, Therapy Pig

Daisy Lou is one of our very opinionated pot belly pigs. She loves any and all treats, and while she doesn’t roam as far as she used to, she still loves to go for her morning strolls and eat her fill of grass. In the afternoons you can find Daisy napping in her house. If disrupted, she’s not afraid to oink and grump to let you know she disapproves. On the really warm days you can find Daisy lounging in her piggy pool to cool off.

Cheerio

Cheerio, Therapy Parrot

Cheerio is an African Grey Parrot. She loves to talk and whistle and has quite the vocabulary. Cheerio loves to work at the table top and help with therapy. She can throw dice, turn a page, or even play connect four. Cheerio and our director, Becky, became a registered Pet Partners team in 2014. She is now registered through Intermountain Therapy Animals. Cheerio is also R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dog) registered. She’s not a dog but she is quite unique.

Valebu

Sandy-colored horse with leather halter. You see the horse's face in profile.
Valebu, Therapy Horse

Valebu is a registered Norwegian Fjord Horse. He is a gray dun color; which is considered rare in the rainbow of Fjord colors: red, gray, yellow, white and brown (which is the most common). Valebu was born and raised in Canada as a dressage and jumping horse. His charisma and extremely friendly personality make him a great therapy horse. Valebu is fearless, very independent, and believes all people are at Nature’s Edge specifically to see him. He quickly becomes a favorite with his shenanigans and silly yet loving personality.

Svali

Photo of black and white horse in a purple halter looking at the camera
Svali, Therapy Horse

Svali is a black and white Icelandic. He is the oldest member of our herd and the boss. Where Boo likes to think he is in charge, Svali is the real boss of the herd. The other horses can play and goof around, but when Svali is done playing everyone respects him and moves out of his way, including big bad Boo. Svali has a very smooth and quick gait to him. He loves to make a game out of being caught, and has even opened a gate a time or two for his friends and himself to go exploring. Svali is a very hard worker and takes his job as a therapy horse very seriously.

Simba

Photo of brown horse with white on its face, white main and forelock, and a black halter with its face turned to the side
Simba, Therapy Horse

Simba is a registered red roan Gypsy Vanner gelding. He is a very friendly, in your pocket, giant teddy bear. He loves any and all attention and will be one of the first to greet you at the gate. He’ll probably give you a thorough sniff down to check to see if you’re hiding any treats. He thinks he’s cute enough that he deserves all the treats and while he is cute, he just won’t listen that he’s on a diet for his own good.
