“Hi, I’m Roxy… and yes, my ears really are that big. I was born on November 23, 2018, and made my way to Nature’s Edge Therapy Center in 2022. Let’s just say… I didn’t exactly trust humans at first. My early experiences weren’t the best, especially when it came to farrier visits (I still have opinions about that… and I’m not afraid to share them). But here’s the thing about me… I’m brave.
With time, patience, and a whole lot of kindness, I’ve learned that people can be safe—and even pretty wonderful. Now I’m one of the most social animals here! I love greeting patients, leaning in for scratches, and quietly reminding everyone that it’s okay to take things at your own pace.
Oh—and I don’t do life alone. My daughter Ruby is here too! She may look like the tiny, adorable version of me, but don’t be fooled… I’m the real boss around here. In fact, I take my job very seriously as the official guard donkey. If something doesn’t belong, I will absolutely let everyone know (loudly). But when it comes to our patients? I’m gentle, steady, and always watching out for them. Every day, I help people feel safe, build trust, and find their confidence—sometimes without them even realizing it.
When you support the Horses for Mental Health Campaign, you’re helping take care of animals like me—providing the feed, farrier care (yes… we’re still working on that ), and veterinary support we need to continue helping others.
So if you’ve ever needed a little courage, a little patience, or just a really good listener with fabulous ears…I’m your girl.”
